Casa Amarilla
The «Beautiful Valley» of the Mapuches

“…we always find the peace and relaxation we are looking for… each time we visit, we discover new stories of its people and their traditions…” Alvaro Navarro, writer of the collection of recipes from the Hostería, La cocina de la Hostería del Pedregoso.
Hostería del Pedregoso is a remote country fishing lodge in the province of Chubut in central Patagonia, some fifteen kilometers from the village of Cholila, which means “beautiful valley” in the language of the Mapuche Indians. It stands on the shores of Cholila lake, not only a major draw for fly fishing enthusiasts but also an attractive location for hikers and nature lovers alike.
With only nine bedrooms, the Hostería’s style is warm and homely, with visitors made to feel like family friends. The downstairs living areas are comfortable and spacious, with log fires for the chill evenings and floor-to-ceiling windows which look out onto inspiring views of the river, the lake itself and the Dos Picos and Tres Picos mountains.
“… while the Hostería itself is simple and unpretentious, the location, right on the edge of the lake, is absolutely stunning…” Lynne Hughes, wife of former British Ambassador to Argentina (2004-2008).
Casa Amarilla offers its guests a unique place that invites relaxation and contemplation of nature in its purest state. A cozy spot that ensures the comfort and convenience our clients seek.
To this blend of rest and contemplation, we add outdoor activities such as hiking and sport fishing with local guides.
Casa Amarilla strives to be the top choice for both national and international clients within the tourism market, meeting the needs tourists seek to fulfill when selecting a destination for outdoor activities. We stand out for the comfort of our facilities, the tranquility of the surroundings, the warmth of our staff, and the entertainment we offer through outdoor activities such as sport fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and boat excursions. Additionally, we provide a diverse gastronomic experience with menus featuring local and traditional dishes.
Casa Amarilla has built an important portfolio of clients throughout its history. However, in recent times, many of these clients have been lost for various reasons. The goal is to recover those clients and attract new ones. To achieve this, we aim to collaborate with “Argentina Visión”, a renowned tourism agency from Chubut, and “Brazo Sur”, a tourism agency from Esquel. Through these partnerships, we plan to join the tourism circuit alongside establishments like Hostería Futalaufquen, Aldea Los Huemules, and La Pilarica Lodge, among others.
Updating the Hostería’s website and investing in various advertising strategies are key actions to increase visibility, complemented by the genuine word-of-mouth recommendations from satisfied clients.
The primary objective of Hostería del Pedregoso, beyond generating profits, is to sustain a unique establishment recognized for its warmth, exclusivity, and excellence in service.
Regarding the team, we are committed to preserving the 20-year tradition of the Hostería’s essence: a warm, family-friendly environment where clients feel at home. The team structure includes a cleaner and a waiter, fostering a collaborative spirit where everyone contributes to various tasks as needed.
